Last week, to celebrate International Women’s Day, organisations came together to host an immersive and fun ocean education day for an enthusiastic group of girls from local Hout Bay communities.
The event, which was organised by PURA Beverages, in collaboration with Sentinel Ocean Alliance, Tigers Milk and RYD, took place at Hout Bay beach on Friday, March 5. Activities included a talk with professional Billabong surfer, Tanika Hoffman, where she shared some of her ocean experiences and adventures, before giving the eager participants a surf lesson.
Sentinel Ocean Alliance is an organisation that creates ocean-based opportunities and provides environmental education for South African youth.
